Top 5 Internet Marketing Forums

Top 5 Internet Marketing Forums

The amount of forums that are being created throughout the Internet are growing rapidly day by day with the creation of new software both open sourced and not it is becoming much easier and cheaper to create your own forum. Whether your planning on creating a forum for a small village or for mothers to discuss methods of child care (strange example). It is a natural occurance to find forums being created each and every day.

Today I am going to share with you my personal top 5 Internet Marketing Forums. These are forums which I have been a member of for quite sometime and in the time I am now able to reflect on the forums and what they have to offer. This is in no particular order or rank merely as they have been laid out in my article’s draft.

Digital Point Forums

Spoken about only yesterday where I wrote a 2,000 word article on the decline of Digital Point forums I am today talking about its good points and why Digital Point is one of my top Internet Marketing forums.

Digital Point forum has over 50,000 active members and an overall 239,000 registered since the day it was established. They have over 1,000,000 threads and 9,000,000 posts as well as this Digital point covers every catergory that you can think of with in the Internet Marketing field, including SEO, Affiliate Marketing, Google, General Business and General Marketing. Each section is filled with years of useful information written and carried on down through generations of Digital Point members some of which were experts in their own field.

For beginners Digital Point can be one of the best places to go because the forum is so active you are bound to get an answer to a question within an hour. One caution I do bring attention to is to not rely on the first answer you may receive to a question and to watch out for incorrect information. With a forum as large as Digital Point you often are given incorrect information or information that may not be 100% factual.

Another large bonus with Digital Point forums is its extremely popular Buy, Sell and Trade section where you will always find hundreds of people browsing the several sections that are sub catergories to this. These include Sites, Domains, Freebies, Services, Link Exchanges and more.

Digital point has a mass gravity throughout the Internet and till this day pulls in several hundred new members each week. If you have not already browsed through Digital Points abundant amount of information and injected the forum with your own advice and information I do advise that you take a look now.

Niche Choppers

This is a fairly new forum to the Internet however this is not to say it hasn’t already made its mark with in the Internet Marketing field. With over 1200 members 10,000 posts and 1,000 threads in under a year, this forum just keeps on growing.

Out of all the forums I will write about in this article this has to be my favourite, now I am not saying this because I own the forum (I don’t) neither am I saying this because I am in a competition where the top referall receives a prize (this explains the referall links). I am saying this because the forum has a great bunch of people, the guy who owns the forum has an exceptional personality and business mind where he definitely abides the “treat others how you would like to be treated” phrase. As well as this the forum is in its early days and I have always wanted to be part of something that is obviously going to be big from the start, with this forum I can be and so can you.

Unlike Digital Point forums, Niche choppers has a smaller aray of forum catergories mainly because it focuses more on being an Affiliate marketing forum rather than a general Internet Marketing forum however it does cover some of the main Internet marketing fields whilst leaving a general section for other Internet marketed related threads.

Niche choppers is definitely a place I advise any beginner, novice or expert to join not only because it will boost my referalls but because you will become part of a community well more like a family.

You can join Niche Choppers here.

SitePoint Forums

Again this is not specifically an Internet Marketing forum however it has all the ingredients and more to be regarded as a place to talk, advise and educate your self about Internet Marketing.

Sitepoint has over 300,000 members over 500,000 threads and 4,000,000 posts although Sitepoint isn’t primarily a forum they have been able to draw a lot of traffic to their forum and have been able to make it a large success as with their marketplace and other diversifications the site has made.

I have been a member at Sitepoint nearly as long as I have been a member of Digital Point and although I havn’t been half as active as I have been at Digital Point I have found so many useful threads that have been written by true experts. I have bookmarked many threads at Sitepoint and learnt a lot through their forum.

Sitepoint has a lot to offer anyone who may not only be interested in Internet Marketing but also the design and coding aspects of creating a website. Its definitely worth checking out.

SEO Chat

Similar to Sitepoint, SEO chat is not primarily a forum and instead is spread out in to several different catergories all based around SEO and Internet Marketing as a whole.

SEO Chat has over 60,000 members, 200,000 threads and 600,000 posts and it is quite obvious from the name that they focus mainly on SEO rather than the more broad Internet Marketing field however they do digress to talk about the general Internet Marketing outlook.

I joined SEO Chat early in 2008 after I had been using one of the tools on their website as soon as I joined the forum I was able to learn a lot more about SEO. Mainly because back then I was a little less intelligent when it came to SEO and I definitely didn’t know as much as I do now. Its probably safe to say that I was merely a beginner in my early stages of learning about SEO and although Digital Point was one of the main forums that helped me in my SEO education I was also able to pull a lot of quality information out from this forum.

If your interested mainly in SEO or if your wanting to learn more about SEO to boost your own sites rankings then I definitely recommend taking a look at this forum. With a large amount of resources and information already there for you it will surely help any beginner in their SEO journey.

Warrior Forum

With over 100,000 members, 33,000 threads and 300,000 posts this forum has a lot to offer anyone interested in Internet Marketing.

This is a forum I was recommended to by a few people mainly for its quick response to questions and quality of members, by this I mean experience of members or amount of knowledge. Now obviously I dont speak for everyone who is a member of Warrior forum saying that they have a large amount of knowledge on Internet Marketing but when you go from Digital Point to this forum you do sense that many of the members have a larger amount of experience, perhaps there just all old (jokes :).

Warrior forum has plenty to offer the beginner, novice and expert your guaranteed to get an answer to a question you may ask within an hour. Although the forum has a much lower amount of members compared to Digital Point forums it does seem to have more active members on at anyone time this helps to ensure you not only receive an answer to a question but a variety of answers which helps to strengthen the quality of your answer and ensure it is the correct answer.

Each forum here has something to offer and although they all touch upon the same subject your going to find different people with different opinions, experiences and amounts of knowledge at each forum you join.

Overall I would advise you to take a look at each of these forums and perhaps join them all. You don’t have to be active at every forum but by joining them when ever your in need of an answer quickly you can always count on one of the forums being able to respond in a matter of minutes.

I hope you enjoyed this article and found it interesting, I am intrigued to know which forum is your favourite? (Don’t forget to join Niche Choppers ;)

Update: Niche Choppers has now been changed to a paid members forum. So whoever hadn’t registered already missed their chance to sign up for free. The prices are fair and I do believe it is worth it, for the amount of information you receive as well as the bonuses you receive when you join. Its an excellent forum which has over 1,000 excellent members of sheer quality. I shall be writing an in depth review of Niche Chopper forums soon enough.

    STUMBLED!

SitePoint would be my favourite on this list, I haven’t heard of most of the others.

I registered in Niche Choppers today. I also registered at seobum and was amused to find a lot of active DP members there. Same goes for vuju.

Looks like a lot of people are trying to substitute DP :)

Thank you Geo for the stumble. You should try Niche choppers if you like Sitepoint and are Interested in Internet Marketing.

@Jeet Funny you should say that because I 100% agree with you there. I have been thinking this for the past several months, since I joined Niche Choppers. It seems that a lot of people are moving from Digital Point to other forums most of which seem to be moving to Niche Choppers.

    Funny really.
    Thanks for your comments.

Nice list - stumbled and sphunn! What do you think of webmasterworld.com?

  5. Posted by Will January 4th, 2009 at 12:06 pm

@ Xurxo thank you for your comment. I ve never signed up to their support forum mainly for the reason that I don’t like the overall site design.

Perhaps this is me being picky, because to my suprise the quality of members threads and posts maybe much higher than other places I am registered to. However the overall aesthetic feel does put me off signing up to the forum.

It just looks out dated (hopefully you will understand what I mean).

If they were to update the design and bring it in to 2009 the forum would probably see a lot of benefits.

Thanks again for your comment, the Stumble and Sphinn.

Thanks for the kind words about SitePoint forums. We’ll have to work harder to get you to spend more time with us than you do at Digital Point :)

    @ Nette your welcome

@Shayne Tilley, your welcome also. I think Sitepoint has some strong good points with an excellent in house team and some great members.

I would like to give you some advice or reasons as to why I dont tend to stick around at Sitepoint for long but truthfully I am not even sure myself.

However it is probably a mixture of not having the time. As well as Sitepoint not being a forum that I have a habbit of visiting daily.

I generally visit once a week but in comparison to two other forums I visit several times a day its different.

Perhaps Sitepoint needs to find some sort of “stick”. A way in which they can make their members stick around more I know Digital Point doesn’t have this but I also know Sitepoint could easily have this.

Perhaps a weekly or bi-weekly newsletter sent out to all forum members highlighting the biggest most popular threads of the period since the last newsletter. As well as this it could have a unique article which can only be read by forum members.

Perhaps this is something you already do but for some reason I ve not received the E-mail.

If you want any other ideas give me a shout, I am always full of ideas.

    Thanks for your comments.

Thanks Will — we do actually have 5 newsletters (with about a million subscribers) covering various topics including marketing and business, development, design, buying and selling web sites, and news from our community.

    http://www.sitepoint.com/newsletter/

We don’t automatically send this to all forum members, we prefer that they opt in for the newsletters they are interested in.

You might want to also check out our new podcast which has got some excellent feedback.

@ Shayne thank you for your comment again. I see I didn’t realise you already sent out 5! newsletters thats quite a lot. I suppose its a good idea really that you make the newsletters opt in saves people complaining about receiving information they didn’t want in the first place. I shall check out the podcasting too thanks.
