The Secrets of Search Engine Traffic

This article illustrates why keyword research is a necessity for making a website successful. By doing the research you can save hours upon hours and increase your traffic rapidly.

Through the first couple of months of my website being live I never considered doing any hardcore serious keyword research. The main reason for this was because my naivety told me that I new what keywords I wanted to rank well for and these would bring me the traffic needed to make me a millionaire. Instead of sitting down and spending a couple of hours a day figuring out which keywords would best suite my website. I started to write my main content and enter the keywords that I thought would benefit me the most.

However 9 months down the line, I rank well for the keywords which I thought would bring me the traffic and there is little traffic being brought from these certain keywords.

Luckily other keywords and marketing methods that I implemented were successful and I do not have to rely on just that one keyword which I was too confident about.

However my point here is that with out keyword research before and whilst in the early stages of your website development you may be relying on a low traffic keyword.

I would definitely recommend using wordtracker for keyword research it is a great tool and although some may regard the price to be excessive, for the features and add ons that you receive it is definitely value for money.

You can try the trial version or buy wordtracker from here
