The importance of keyword research part 3

Posted by Will Blears on October 10, 2008 in SEO Tutorials

In the last part I discussed that only one of the four keywords was successfully giving me traffic this was “Michigan SEO Target Marketing” each of the other 3 keywords was unsuccessful in giving me any traffic. I have now decided that I will keep going ahead with the one keyword “Michigan SEO Target Marketing” to discover how much traffic I would receive on a daily basis from being on the first page for the keyword.

I am currently ranked around 28th for the keyword and I doubt it should take much longer to rank in the first page.

Looking at my data through Google analytics and in specific looking at the keyword “Michigan SEO Target Marketing” I received a large amount of traffic in between June 17th and June 27th which resulted in 53 overall unique views. However since June 27th I have received no traffic at all through this keyword.

This seems very strange and I am guessing that the data is largely inaccurate as the average time for a person coming through this keyword was 20.24 which also seem largely inaccurate.

However I shall keep going until I am on the first page and see if I receive any more traffic from the keyword, currently though things are looking as I forecasted at the start of the experiment. The data seems very inaccurate and the keywords seem to be unsuccessful in giving anyone traffic.
