I would first of all like to say, that i tried to connect to the second persons proxy site however at the time of writing the review i could not. Therefore i shall review your proxy site next week.

The first thing I liked about the proxy site is that the load time for the proxy site was good, now this is something I come across a lot with proxy sites. Mainly because the amount of resources they take up and the fact that many people will overload their servers with lots of proxy sites to form a proxy network it can get really annoying when your waiting a couple of minutes for a proxy site to load up and I am sure most people will click the back button before it loads, so this was something that made me happy from the start.

The domain name is ok, and something that could be remembered and can be pronounced so people can remember the name and tell their friends however it is a DOT info domain and the only problem I have with a DOT info domain name is the fact for viral reasons most people would probably forget the domain extension and assume it was a DOT com. However considering how much cheaper DOT info’s are and the advantages you receive with DOT info, mainly on the overall setting up costs they are a great buy for anyone who is looking to start up a proxy network.

The title tag was the first thing that caught my eye about the website, it has not been optimised fully and instead just includes “Unblock Internet” by adding some other keywords to this title tag you can target a larger variety of search terms which are highly searched each day and after a couple of weeks or months you could start to see a nice flow of traffic from the search engines. I advise you to read Search engine optimisation for a proxy site part 2 it is a step by step guide to keyword research for proxy sites and it would help with optimising your proxy site for the search engines.

The second thing I noticed that there is not much content there is not even a small paragraph explaining what a proxy site is or how to use one, which is quite common to see on proxy sites. Now content definitely is king when it comes to optimising your site for the search engines however from looking at your title tag and minimal amount of content I am guessing perhaps you’re not too bothered with using SEO to gain traffic from search engines. Either way including more content in your proxy site will help visitors to understand how to use the proxy site and also would make the proxy site look more personal and user friendly.

It’s good to see you monetizing your proxy site in two different ways too, using both a primary and secondary strategy to monetizing using both Google adsense and Yahoo groups to gain an income and a proxy list. However I would perhaps reposition your yahoo group’s invitation to the top of the proxy site and perhaps surround it with a paragraph or two of information on proxy sites. Also add an introduction paragraph before the yahoo group’s invitation to tell the users why they should sign up to the yahoo group, what benefits they will receive from doing so.

The overall proxy design and the template you use is not to my tastes especially not the colour scheme however it does the job. I would advise using one of the glype templates we have available here though glype themes these offer much better advert placement and a nicer colour scheme. The advert placement on the proxy site seems ok and they are placed in the correct places such as around the proxy search bar, however I think with added content and a larger yahoo invitation box placed at the top of the screen you could benefit more from the adverts you have placed on the proxy site.

Overall the proxy site has good advert placement, loads quickly and has a good domain name, the site has not been optimised correctly for SEO and does not contain enough content and the adverts could be swapped around slightly. The template design lacks colour however it does the job.
