Problogger Book Review
Secrets for blogging your way to a Six-Figure Income
Firstly I would like to say that I don’t usually do book reviews, actually this is the first book review I have ever done. However I felt that it is a product thats relevant to my readers and that it could help teach my readers a thing or two that they did not already know.
I decided that I would write a review on my blog primarily because I find the book is a great read for anyone who is new to blogging or like myself been in the blogging business for a year or two.
A little introduction to ProBlogger it has been out since April 2008 so I am a little late in reviewing the book however I only bought it last week and since that time, I have read it twice. This isn’t because the book is crammed full of pictures and very little text or because the publisher used size 18 font for each page. It is because of the lay out of the book and the overall size of the book. It stands at 211 pages not including the index and is layed out to include print screens, diagrams and tip/exercise boxes.
The book includes an introduction in to Darren Rowse’s previous years before he started blogging and how he came to start blogging as well as an introduction to the second author Chris Garret.
Both Darren Rowse and Chris Garret are very succesfull bloggers both having very popular blogs which make siz figure incomes each year. They have large amounts of experience and are knowleagable in the field of blogging thus being why they published the book and why both their book and their blogs are succesfull.
I finished reading the book for the second time today on the way back from my girlfriend’s in Cambridge. I had travelled there on Saturday and came back today which in total takes about 2 hours on the train, in this time I was able to complete reading Problogger’s book now sorry if I miss guided you however I had already started reading the book a couple of days before and was half way through it.
My honest opinion of the book is that for anyone who is a beginner in the blogosphere that it is a must read however for any of you that have been blogging for over a year I would put it down to extra reading if you have a spare pound or two. The reason I say this is because personally the book didn’t teach me too much however I didn’t purchase the book in order for me to be educated in the world of blogging, yes I was expecting to learn a couple of things which I did but instead I purchased the book to find more out about Darren and because reading these types of books motivates myself and gets my creative juices flowing as well as my entrepreneurial spirit.
For beginners this book covers most of the basics about blogging including
- Setting up your blog
- Blog Writing
- Blogging for money
- Niche Blogging
- Blog income and earning strategies
- Secrets of succesfull blogging
and a lot more. As I said the book is 211 pages with 10 chapters written by both Darren and Chris.
I am not writing this review for the commission I would receive for every person that purchases the book but instead as an insight an honest review of a great book. The one thing I don’t like about the book is the sub heading “Secrets for Blogging your way to a Six-Figure income”. There are no secrets in this book and there are no secrets anyway, it takes time and patience. However like with every other business idea or money making scheme in life if its unique if you have money to throw at it or your the first to do it then it makes your task much easier.
So overall if your a blogging beginner and you don’t have a clue about blogging I recommend firstly that you read my tutorials and articles on blogging and secondly that you purchase this book.
If your not a blogging beginner and your quite experienced in this area but you have the spare cash then why not purchase it. It could have the tip that you need to grow your blog or make a little more money, it won’t tell you the secrets to success but it will tell you the basics and more.
