After reading what begun as a contest between Pat Flynn and Tyrone Shum has turned in to an epic battle and challenge which interests many experienced and semi-experienced online marketers, and of course me. I have just been accepted to compete in the Niche Site Duel – a competition which challenges you to choose the most profitable niche, design and create the highest converting website, choose the right monetization method and to convert your visitors.
Whilst competing I will keep a journey of my progress which I will be updating several times a week. I will be 100% clear cut with everyone about everything and I will even reveal the niche which I am competing in and the keywords I am trying to rank for. You can follow and track my progress throughout the Niche Site duel and you can read and see how I will compete effectively and profitably.
The Strategy I intend to use:
Research, with the clear-cut honesty that is requested from every contestant I can analyse and interpret my competitors success and their overall drive and goal. This is an important point for every marketer, you must always keep an eye on your competitors no matter how small or big they maybe.
The research I do will enable me to foresee the exact type of niche I would need to choose, the type of competition I would need to target, the ways of monetizing I could use and the type of strategy I could implement.
I will then start with my keyword research, being the most important part of choosing a niche I would never suggest anyone to cut this process short. I will then progress to slicing the keyword research data down to a smaller size and to analyse the rest. I will eventually have 5 to 10 keywords left to analyse in depth from the amount of competition, the amount of daily traffic predicted as top search engine result and the predicted monthly income through Google Adsense.
I will proceed with this competition using the following tools to help me along the way:
3. WordPress
4. Aweber
These tools & software will come in handy doing most of my jobs and will make the challenge much easier.
I will be choosing my niche over the next couple of days using Market Samurai as my main tool for keyword research and niche hunting! After I have found my niche, registered my domain name and set the website up I will write part 2 of the Niche Site Duel.
Please wish me luck and if anyone else wants to know how to participate or needs any help at all please send me a message.

I believe that finding the right niche is the most taken for granted step in SEO. This dictates the future of your site on how profitable it could be or how high it would rank in the future.
The selection of relevant keywords can play an important role in increasing your website’s presence and indexing by search engines, resulting in increased traffic from people who are actually interested in purchasing your products and/or services.
