Moving The Free Line Into Oblivion

Posted by Steven Wagenheim on September 09, 2010 in General

We all talk about moving the free line with our marketing. Give away reports. Provide tons of content in our newsletters. Create hours of videos filled with content and let people watch them for a simple opt in…if that even. Give, give, give…and then give some more until it hurts.

Hold on cowboy.

There is only so much you can give before the well runs dry and there’s just no more TO give.

So how do we get around this problem? Well, logic dictates that there really is only ONE way. And this is why I tell people that you can’t limit your niche to a sub niche so obscure that there’s just nothing to give.

What you want to do, and it’s not hard at all, is focus on a niche with several sub niches that are so closely related that the chances of a prospect being interested in more than one sub niche are very great.

For example, there are two main niches that I tackle that have so many sub niches that I could give free content away for the rest of my life and never run out of information to give away. And I’ll even tell you what those two niches are.

Making Money Online
Health

For those of you with such severe tunnel vision that you’d make Tony Newman and Doug Phillips look like amateurs, let’s take the first one…making money online.

There are plenty of ways to make money online. You can sell a product or service. You can freelance as a writer. You can do those silly offers that pay you for trying products. You can take surveys. You can get a job for a company.

Now, let’s take just one of those ways, selling a product or service. There many things that you need to learn in order to do this successfully.

You have to learn how to write salescopy. Either that, or have a darn big bankroll to hire somebody. You need to learn to do web design, or same thing…hire somebody. You need to learn how to build a list of prospects. I can go on but I think you get the point.

There are so many aspects to making money online that you could create an autoresponder series of content for people looking to make money online that could last for months if not years.

And…this is the best part…you can sell multiple products to these people like I do. I have products teaching affiliate marketing, list building, email marketing, article writing and marketing and on and on. I have some customers who have bought 20 or 30 products of mine.

Why?

Because I didn’t limit myself to just ONE thing within a niche. God bless these people who do nothing but create books on pay per click. Yes, I know, there is a lot you can write about PPC advertising. But imagine if these people branched out into other aspects or marketing.

They’d have enough free content to choke a horse and then some.

So, if you think you’ve moved the free line as far as it will go, maybe the problem is with the niche you’ve chosen.

To YOUR Success,

Steven Wagenheim
