This may sound like a very basic question for those who have been in the Internet marketing business for a while now however I do believe it is a question which appears very frequently on internet marketing forums, such as digital point.
So I have decided to try and explain in a simple and basic way [...]

Increase output with a To-do list

I have spoken about the importance of setting aims to achieve your overall goals however these aims may be neglected if they are not written down, prioritised or put in to action straight away.

Have you ever lay in bed trying to get to sleep after working a full solid day on your blog, writing articles, internet marketing, networking and doing many other things. To then be kept up as your brain ticks over ideas and problems that may have risen throughout the day?

I know I have, I am always unable to fall to sleep because my brain is still switched on perhaps due to the large amount of time spent in front of my computer screen, however as many people say “time is money” and a lot of us don’t have time to watch television and relax.

My brain is usually contemplating money making ideas, how I can improve my blog, how I can ensure all of my articles are quality, how I can promote my blog and spread the word as well as various other ideas. I am usually so overloaded with plans that I have, for the following day and ideas that I have for websites that I own or could create that I cannot remember them all. I become stressed, irritated and still fail to fall asleep. The usual answer to this problem of mine is to make a list, now if you were to walk in to my room you would see several notepads on my desk one for plans, one for daily to-do lists and another for random jotting down of anything. These are my work journals, my ideas, my plans and the filling of my brain. Everything I think about gets written down in to a list and categorised in an order usually of importance. This helps me to relax, de-stress and allows me to fall to sleep quite easily.

However these are not the only benefits I receive by writing my plans and ideas down. As well as allowing my brain to switch off for the night it also helps me to sketch out how I shall fit each job I have in to my daily to-do list. The daily to-do list that I create always has some of the same goals at the top of the piece of paper usually to market my website, write articles and post on forums. Until I reach the optimum traffic level that I want to reach I will keep performing these three steps, these are my aims which will help me to reach my overall goals.

The point I am trying to make clear whilst using some of my own personal experiences is that instead of stressing and becoming confused as your brain ponders over various different subjects, why not write your ideas down and then organise them in to a daily, weekly or even monthly to-do list.

To-do lists are great for making sure you do every job you needed to do this also helps you meet your aims and achieve your overall goals.

Advantages of having a To-do list

The list will not forget – By writing your plans and ideas down on to a piece of paper it will guarantee that the plans and ideas won’t be forgotten. Although you could loose the piece of paper however at least you’re not just depending on your brain to remember your plans and ideas. They have now been written down which helps de-stress and allow more focus to be targeted at other thoughts.

The list helps keep on track so you can achieve your aims – Using a to-do list helps to keep track of where you are up to. What jobs you have completed and which you still have left to do. To-do lists will also help motivate you as you go through the day you can tick of jobs allowing you to see clearly that you have accomplished something.

To-do lists help you to prioritise – With a to-do list you can prioritise jobs in order of importance, time they will take or in other ways. This ensures you can focus on the most important jobs first and accomplish them before you move on to anything else.

Having a prioritised daily plan written down in a list format on a piece of paper can also help the brain to focus as it will know exactly what you would like to achieve for that day.

Overall to-do lists can be very beneficial, they don’t have to be planned out to the extent of which you have a time to do each job the to-do list can just be as simple as writing 10 or 11 jobs that you would like to complete that day.
