Most cases of poor page titles is generally down to a lack of knowledge or effort put in to writing a page title. Therefore it is time to educate you with the understandings of page titles, why they are important, what they can be used for and how they can be made to be very effective ways of luring visitors to your website along with increasing your search engine rankings.

The first one is that with a well written page title you can catch the eye of many internet surfers perhaps interested in your website but not enough to click through. This is what your page title for its like a limited advertisement or the final push to clicking through to a website. A page title is extremely important after all in most cases the visitor ends up clicking the title as this is almost always the hyper link.

It is important to make your page titles catchy, interesting and to the point. You need to ensure it says exactly what your web page is about but not in too many or too little words. You need to be eye catching and witty you need to grab the attention of anyone and everyone who would be interested and lure them in with a catchy line.

The second benefit of having a well written page title is that it can be much more effective within the search engines both in terms of increasing search engine rankings and by catching the eye of any search engine user. You need to pack your page title full of relevant keywords whilst making it creative, catchy and interesting to the target visitor. In most cases a page title of about 60 characters is sufficient and effective enough to catch the eye of the average passer by.

Optimizing your page’s title tag is a very important step in on-page optimization for several reasons. It is typically displayed prominently on the first line of your listing in the organic search engine results pages (SERPs).It is displayed in the browser title bar (the blue bar across the top of your browser). It is the single MOST influential on-page ranking factor considered by most search engines in their ranking algorithms.
