Digital Point: Hate it or Love it? Vote Now!

Although this article is going to be reflecting my personal annoyance of Digital Point and the fact that they have banned me at such an inconvenient time, I am very interested in hearing other people’s views of Digital Point and whether you hate or love Digital Point. Please vote and leave your feedback.

I have expressed my concerns regarding Digital point before (The decline of Digital point) however this time its got personal.

On the 13th July 2009 I was banned from Digital Point, although it was only for a 7 day period the reasons I was banned were unjustified they claimed I had gone against the rules of Digital Point and more specifically the rule which asks a member not to bump threads.

When I recieved the E-mail(s) (Yes, 3 to be exact) which showed that I had received an infraction for three seperate acts all in the same thread I was quite shocked. The first infraction I understand that it could of been said in a PM (Private Message) however it was directed at all of my clients in a particular service I had been advertising there and considering I had over 15 clients I thought it was best to publicly announce the message instead.

The following two infractions however are unfair and I suppose bias against myself. The two infractions were also for bumping a thread, the way Digital Point get around the infractions being unjustified is by adding;

This includes replying to posts in threads when they should be private messages.

What they mean here is by putting something in a post when instead you can answer it directly to the member in a private message. However if this was the case then wouldn’t everyone be talking in private messages instead of publicly. What you would see is people asking questions and then receiving no answers to their thread. Instead you would just have your inbox pounded with answers/replies to your question as they are all answering directly to the thread starter.

I don’t want to make this in to one big complaint/rant about how Digital Point has made a very inconventient ban on my account so instead I want to hear other people’s views and opinions on the banning that goes on at Digital Point.

If you have any bad experiences at Digital Point, whether it be with staff or members then please share here.

312,593 members, 70,956 active members perhaps this says something about the ban happy admins.
