5 Tips for Advertising your Proxy Site

Proxy sites are in high demand 9 out of the 12 months in a year and although they are affected by seasonal changes they still manage to pull in hundreds and thousands of unique views each and every day. Many people believe that running and managing a proxy site or a network of proxy sites is easy money but realistically nothing is easy unless you know how to do it. However this is not to say that Proxy sites can be easy money, in fact once you’ve learnt the basics of creating, managing and marketing a proxy site you can start earning money each and every day. By Proxy submission sites I do not mean Proxy toplists, I have a personal hatred for toplist sites of any sort mainly because they force users to add a link from their own website to the toplist site and although I can see the advantage from the toplist owners side, many toplists tend to be rubbish.

Instead by Proxy submission sites I mean sites which allow you to add your Proxy sites link without asking for a link from your site in return. These sites have a major advantage over proxy toplists, this being that because they don’t ask for a link in return they probably tend to go more viral, more people talk about them, more people use them, this then creates larger traffic and starts a spiral of traffic from different sources such as the end user and the proxy owner.

You can find Proxy submission sites by searching Google or posting a thread in forums asking for Proxy submission sites, owners of these websites would be more than happy for you to use their site I am sure.

Social Networking

This is a relatively easy task to do, basically tell your friends, work colleagues, family, their friends anyone and everyone you can get in contact with. Use text message, phone calls, E-mail, Royal Mail, Myspace, Facebook, Bebo, Hi5, anything and everything! The hope here is that after trying out each of these methods your Proxy site goes viral and spreads like petrol on fire.

Search Engine Optimisation

A very underated method for increasing traffic to proxy sites and I understand why, however because it is so underated you are missing a massive oppurtunity to be among the few that actually do search engine optimisation on their Proxy Sites.

Search engine optimisation can bring in massive amounts of targeted traffic straight to your Proxy sites just from people searching in Google, MSN, Yahoo or any other search engine. After your optimisation efforts have been made and you rank highly for whichever keywords you choose you can sit back and enjoy the money rolling in from the high amounts of traffic.

Yahoo has two main sources that you can use to generate traffic from, the first being Yahoo Answers a method which was very popular about a year ago still  has its affects now, although Yahoo are toughening up on the Proxy marketers, so be careful.

The concept here is to crawl through the question pages on Yahoo answers to find questions related to Proxy sites, hundreds of people each day ask where they can find an unblocked Proxy site to use so they can surf their favourite social networking site, well its your job to give it to them and by doing so you will also be answering the same question of another hundred or thousand people who decide to read the same post.

The second source of Yahoo is through Yahoo Groups another very popular marketing strategy for Proxy owners is to send their list of Proxy sites to each and every Yahoo Proxy Group. As well as searching Yahoo answers, Search engines and other sources Proxy users tend to surf through Proxy groups too, either this or they are E-mailed Proxy sites through the Yahoo group.

In my experience I have receive massive amounts of traffic from both of these sources and although Yahoo try their hardest to block Proxy owners from marketing their sites they still cannot put a stop to it so take advantage as much as you can.

Instant Messenger

How many contacts do you have on your Instant Messenger?

Whether it be MSN, Yahoo or any other Instant messenger software I bet your answer is over 100 well it may be stupid of me to say this but why not market your Proxy sites to them!

Think about it you have over 100 E-mail addresses right at your disposal, they all know you so its more than likely they won’t be annoyed by you sending them Proxy sites and secondly because they know you they probably trust you to and some are probably willing to do you a favour, so why not try it.

An idea I have just considered whilst writing that last sentence then was to send a message to all of your friends in the form of one of those annoying FW E-mails, make it a joke, a Poem, a story or a riddle and just add your link at the bottom telling people if they need to surf Myspace, Facebook or any other site whilst at school or work try using us.

Just an idea but it could work, the thing with Proxy sites is the world is your oyster. Proxy sites are in such high demand and are used by so many people throughout the world pretty much any marketing strategy will have some affect on your Proxy sites growth, so just give it a try.
